Getting started
Before first use, give your glasses a full charge.
1. Charging your glasses
• Align the magnetic connector with the charging ports inside the right temple
until it clicks into place.
• Plug the USB end into a power adapter or computer.
• Charging: Red indicator light
• Fully charged: Solid blue indicator light
2. Power on & off
• To power on: Press and hold the right capture button for 2 seconds. You will
hear a startup tone.
• To power off: Press and hold the right capture button for 5 seconds. You will
hear a shutdown tone.
• The glasses will automatically power down after 5 minutes if no connection is established.
3. Pair with your phone
To enable smart features, connect your glasses via Bluetooth to your phone.
Download the HeyCyan app from the App Store or Google Play.
Open the app and create your account.
Turn on your glasses. A flashing blue light indicates they are in pairing mode.
In the HeyCyan app, select “Add device” and select Pangolin 3 from the list.
Follow the on-screen prompts to complete pairing.
Using your glasses
Media & audio controls
• Play/pause music: Double-tap the right touchpad.
• Next track: Press and hold the right touchpad for 2 seconds.
• Previous track: Triple-tap the right touchpad.
• Volume up: Slide the right touchpad forward.
• Volume down: Slide the right touchpad backward.
Capture & recording
• Take a photo: Press the right capture button once.
• Record video:
Press the right capture button twice
to start recording.
Press the right capture button once
to stop.
• Record audio:
Press the left capture button twice
to start recording.
Press the left capture button once to
stop.
• View & upload: Access all your photos, videos, and recordings in the HeyCyan
app. For large uploads, connect to Wi-Fi and place your glasses on the charger for stability.
Calls & voice
Answer a call: Press the left or right capture button once.
End a call: Press the left or right capture button once.
Reject a call: Press and hold the left or right capture button for 2 seconds.
How to use your AI assistant
AI Voice Assistant
Your KITS glasses feature an AI assistant that can understand and interact with the
world around you. Double-press the left capture button until you hear the activation
tone, then begin your prompt with “Hey Cyan” to engage the AI assistant.
Note: For the AI functions to work, your glasses must be connected to the HeyCyan app on your phone with an active internet connection (cellular data or Wi-Fi).
1. Real-time language translation
Translate conversations between dozens of languages instantly.
• How to use: Activate the AI Assistant and say a command like.
"Translate English to Spanish."
"What did she just say?"
2. Object & scene identification
Identify objects, landmarks, and text in your environment.
• How to use: Activate the AI Assistant while looking at an item and ask.
"What is this plant?"
"What kind of dog is that?"
3. General knowledge & information
Get answers to questions and retrieve information without using your phone.
• How to use: Activate the AI Assistant and ask:
"What's the capital of France?"
"What's the weather like today?"
Mobile voice assistant
• How to use: Press and hold the left capture button for 2 seconds. Release
and speak a command or question like:
“Call Mom on speakerphone.”
“Play my ‘Workout’ playlist on Spotify.”
“Give me directions to the nearest coffee shop.”
“What’s the score of the Lakers game?”
Care & maintenance
• Clean the lenses with a microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
• Store your glasses in your case when not in use.
• Keep the charging ports clean and dry
Troubleshooting
Won't power on
Ensure the glasses are fully charged.
Can't connect to phone
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
Restart your glasses and phone.
Unpair Pangolin 3 from your phone's Bluetooth list and in the HeyCyan app,
then try pairing again.
No sound
Check the volume by sliding the right touchpad. Ensure the audio source is playing.
File upload failed
Check your Wi-Fi connection. Ensure your glasses are connected to the HeyCyan app and placed on the charger during upload.
Device unresponsive
Perform a soft reset by pressing and holding the right capture button for 10 seconds. This will restart the glasses.
Factory Reset: Press and hold the right capture button for 10 seconds. You will hear a tone confirming the reset. This will erase all data and unpair the device.
Unpair Glasses: Press and hold the left capture button for 7 seconds, or remove the device from your phone's Bluetooth settings and the HeyCyan app.
